About The Program
Join The Teaching Kitchen, a 12-week program that offers free job training for individuals interested in food service careers but face barriers to employment. Gain culinary skills while assisting in meal preparation for clients with critical illnesses. Experience hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art kitchen, covering food safety, knife skills, cooking techniques, and nutrition.
Class Time
Monday - Thursday: 9am-4pm
Additional internship hours on Fridays.

Trainees
The Teaching Kitchen welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering them a structured and supportive environment to cultivate the essential professional and life skills required for success in the food service industry. The program is designed to provide assistance and support to individuals facing various barriers to employment, including those with limited formal education, individuals experiencing homelessness, those in substance abuse recovery, individuals with employment gaps, and individuals reintegrating into the workforce after incarceration.
Job Placement
84% of our graduates secure employment for at least 30 days after completing the program. They offer ongoing support with resumes, interviews, and job searches. Trainees find jobs in various food service settings, including colleges, nonprofits, catering, grocery stores, hotels, and restaurants.
