Are you interested in a career related to the life sciences? MassBioEd offers trainings that will enable you to become a Biomanufacturing Technician, Laboratory Support Specialist, or Clinical Trial Associate. Often, people working in the Biotech field have a role in projects that are focused on developing medications used to treat cancer and other significant diseases.
The MassBioEd website states:
“These programs will enable individuals to obtain foundational knowledge and industry recognized skills, and quickly transition into employment that provides meaningful work, family-sustaining wages, and career growth.”
Laboratory Support Specialists clean, disinfect, and maintain operating equipment; prepare chemical solutions; and assist with analytical testing.
Clinical Trial Associates help oversee drug trials. They may assist with test design, test implementation, logistics, and supplies.
Biomanufacturing Technicians help to control the environment in which cells are grown or biological processes are taking place. They may have to perform solution prep; help build test equipment; setup and operate manufacturing equipment; maintain cleanliness standards; and maintain records.
