Curriculum
The program covers a wide range of essential topics, including troubleshooting, service and repair, electrical systems, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, efficiency and sustainability, customer service, and REAC preparation.
Participants receive hands-on training in various areas, such as landscaping, snow removal, apartment turnovers, integrated pest management (IPM), preventative maintenance (PM), appliance repair, basic plumbing, basic electrical, and basic mechanical.
Program Outcomes
Graduates complete 2,000 hours per year of on-the-job training and 150 hours per year of technical instruction, preparing them to become future industry leaders. They receive nationally recognized credentials from The Peterson School and industry-specific certifications from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including CPR and Safety Certification, OSHA 10, and Certified Maintenance Apprentice Technician (CAMT). Graduates are equipped with a strong professional foundation and skills in trades, safety, customer service, and professional communication, positioning them for progressive career advancement and wage increases in facilities management.
