What the program offers:
Two weeks of hands-on technical training (basics in construction, carpentry, and building science); job skills training; career exploration in the building trades (stipends up to $1,000 upon meeting eligibility and participation requirements)
Connection to employers and extended training opportunities
Access to financial coaching plus individual and group check-ins for 12 weeks post-program
Financial support/incentives for up to the first 6 months in the field

General Information about the BGJ Program:
Through the Bridges to Green Jobs (BGJ) program, you can begin your training towards becoming a Weatherization Technician -- helping to make homes more comfortable and energy-efficient. In 2 weeks of training, with ongoing post-program support, you'll be off to a great start in this role, and it's a role that could lead to a more advanced career in the clean energy field.
Weatherization Technicians can earn over $1,500 per week. Keep in mind that the job requires being in good physical condition. It also requires teamwork, comfort with heights, and the ability to work in tight spaces that might be very hot or cold.
Additional Info:
To participate in the program, you need to meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years old
Have a valid driver's license
Have reliable transportation.
Have authorization to work in the U.S.
Note: A high school diploma is not required.
