New England Culinary Arts Training (NECAT) prepares people for jobs in the culinary arts field. They're focused on providing opportunities to adults who have faced obstacles to gainful employment, and they strongly believe in and advocate for "diversity, equity, and inclusion".

NECAT has four training program cohorts:

  • Their main location on Bradston Street in Boston

  • East Boston

  • Suffolk County House of Corrections

  • The main Bradston Street location, offered in Haitian-Creole.

Each program runs for 14 weeks and includes classroom work; experience-based, hands-on learning; as well as curriculum related to life skills, career readiness, mindfulness, and wellness. It's a very holistic approach.

If you’re legally able to work in the U.S.; can commit to a 14-week, 30-hour per week program; and are interested in the food service industry, you’re encouraged to attend a Tuesday information session and/or contact Elise Brandwein: ebrandwein@ne-cat.org or 857-289-1019.

>> The Tuesday information sesssions are at 9:30 AM, 23 Bradston Street (2nd floor), Boston. Register at www.ne-cat.org or contact Elise.
